Understand the choices. Make your money go further.
Hi, I’m Joon. I grew up in Busan in a family where comparing prices was part of shopping. My father liked fixing things, and my mother knew when paying a little more would save money later. I inherited both habits, along with a drawer full of cables that might still come in handy.
My early trips revolved around a modest budget and whatever time I could get away. I compared guesthouses, learned to pack lightly and occasionally discovered that the cheapest room came with an expensive taxi ride. Moving to Seoul brought another set of decisions, from choosing a neighborhood to figuring out which everyday conveniences were worth paying for.
I write about the questions that can feel unexpectedly difficult in an unfamiliar country. Which hotel suits your plans? How do you order at a kiosk? Will you actually save money with that travel pass? I explain the steps and costs, including the details people sometimes assume everyone already knows.
I enjoy browsing markets, hardware shops and convenience stores. I’ll happily pay for comfort or a good meal, but I like understanding what I’m getting. My aim is to help you spend thoughtfully and feel comfortable handling the everyday parts of your trip.
