About the guide

Local knowledge, translated into better travel decisions.

Korea Insider Guide is an independent English-language travel publication created in Korea for visitors planning their own trips.

Why this site exists

Many travel pages are excellent at inspiration but thin on the decisions that follow: which neighborhood works for an early flight, whether a day trip is realistic, how much time a transfer actually consumes, or what a first-time diner needs to know before ordering.

This site closes that gap. It is written from a local perspective by a Korea-based Korean–English translator, with attention to Korean-language sources, practical nuance, and the details that disappear when information is copied from one English page to another.

What independence means here

Commercial relationships do not purchase a favorable conclusion. When an article contains a compensated link or partnership, it is disclosed. Recommendations begin with the reader’s needs, and the useful answer remains available even when there is nothing to sell.

Meet our writers

Our guides cover routes, culture and practical travel choices, with contributions published under Alex Kim, Mina Park and Joon Lee. Meet all three writers.

What the site is becoming

The first phase is a focused library for independent first-time visitors. It will grow through weekly destination, itinerary, food, culture, performance, festival, and travel-essential coverage; organized into planning desks so useful information remains findable after publication week.
