Choose a Seoul Hotel: A Practical Booking Checklist

Compare three Seoul properties by door-to-door journeys, total stay cost, room details and arrival instructions before booking.

Choose two or three properties in the area that suits your trip. This checklist helps you compare the actual addresses and rooms. Keep your dates, guest count and cancellation conditions consistent so the lowest price means what you think it means.

Before you leave

Set up the day.

  • Write down your dates, guest count, arrival airport and flight time, departure station or airport, preferred bedtime and mobility needs.
  • Save your three main destinations and each candidate's Korean address in a local map app.
  • Set a budget for the complete stay and decide whether you need a refundable booking.

Follow the route

Times are suggested planning anchors. Copy the route, then adjust it for your date, opening hours, and pace.

    Two or three exact properties

    Use the neighborhood comparison in the main guide to choose an area. Collect the property name, Korean address, room category and final total for each candidate. Visit Seoul's hotel and Seoul Stay directories can give you places to investigate.

  2. Step 2 · journeys
    02

    Airport, daily destinations and departure

    Check airport → hotel, hotel → each of your three main destinations, and hotel → your departure point. Note transfers, station exits and the final walk. Hongik University Station is served by AREX all-stop trains; the Express runs nonstop to Seoul Station. Check the current timetable for your actual arrival.

  3. Step 3 · whole cost

    A like-for-like price comparison

    Compare the same dates, guest count and cancellation conditions. Record the checkout total and payment currency, then add foreseeable transfer, breakfast or laundry costs. Keep a separate note of the extra daily journey time so a cheaper address does not hide the trade-off.

  4. Step 4 · exact room

    Room details and recent reviews

    Confirm beds, room size, private bathroom, windows, occupancy, air conditioning and luggage space for the category you will buy. Look for recurring review comments about noise and access. Ask directly about floor bedding in a hanok, step-free access, bathroom dimensions or an extra bed when relevant.

  5. Step 5 · arrival and terms

    Property confirmation

    Confirm check-in hours and any late-arrival procedure. Check the cancellation deadline and its time zone, payment timing, and any conditions for changes. If you arrive late, make sure the final airport connection and the property's check-in instructions both work.

  6. Step 6 · book and save
    06

    Your chosen Seoul base

    Book with the property or a provider whose conditions you understand. Save the confirmation, room category, total price, cancellation terms, Korean address, phone number and check-in instructions offline. Save the correct station exit and a backup airport journey.

Make it your trip

Useful changes.

  • Light sleeper: give recurring noise comments more weight than proximity to nightlife.
  • Family or traveler with mobility needs: confirm occupancy, bedding and the entire route from pavement to room before booking.
  • Short stay: keep one base unless changing hotels solves a specific connection or several days of travel.
  • Plans still moving: compare flexible rates and save the exact cancellation deadline.
